Commander’s Message
I hope everyone is having a great summer
and staying cool with the hot weather.
Finally summer really did arrive!
I would like the
thank everyone who helped out with
Memorial Day and with the Flag Day
ceremony we had at Ralph Gracie Park.
And a special thanks to the Elks Lodge
1052 who participated with the Legion on
Flag Day. They did a great job and it
was a good turnout.
In July the 40/8
will have its annual Pancake Breakfast
on Saturday, July 4th. Don’t
forget to purchase your tickets for this
great cause.
Don’t forget that
the 2009 Department Convention is being
held in Mahnomen, MN and the official
hotel is the Shooting Star Casino &
Hotel. The dates are July 16th
– 18th.
In August we will
have our Legion picnic so check out our
website or our news letter for the time,
date and place. Also the County Fair
will be here July 29th –
August 2nd and volunteers
will be needed for our booth to help our
membership drive. For more information

our veterans and service men and women
in our hearts and prayers.
